Friends of the Anadarko Community Library

The Friends of the Anadarko Community Library (FOACL) provide an important source of assistance and revenue that enhances the library’s offering of events, resources and programs.


  • To establish a membership in support of the Anadarko Community Library.
  • To advocate for the Friends organization and the interests of the Library.
  • To continue to hold events annually to promote the library and raise funds for special purchases.


  • Annual Book Sale February 27th, 2018 through March 3rd, 2018 in the Hollytex Community Room at the Anadarko Community Library

    Anadarko, Oklahoma
  • Annual Chocolate Festival – October 1,  2018 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Auction starts at 6:00 pm. This year’s theme is “Make your Own Theme”.

Money raised has supported programs such as Adult and Youth Summer Reading Programs, Movie In The Park Nights, Xbox and Wii Game Days, Craft Time,  and other special Library events.

  • Teaching or Facilitating a Library Program
  • Friendly Visitor to Home-bound folks
  • Gardening or Yard Work

If a suitable position is not available at the time of your interview, we’ll place your application and interest inventory in a resource file. As positions become available, we’ll contact you!

As a library volunteer you should…

  • Feel free to ask questions if you do not understand instructions.
  • Complete your assignment in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Be reliable, dependable and prompt.
  • Give adequate notice of absences.
  • Always be polite to Library customers and staff.
  • Avoid having friends call or visit you while you are working.
  • Dress according to the Library Dress Code.
  • Wear your Volunteer badge while on duty.

Volunteers may answer directional and simple questions. However, reference questions should be referred to the Library staff.
