Anadarko

City of Anadarko

Welcome to Anadarko, also known as the Indian Capital of the Nation!  We are a city on the move with an exciting future as we strive to celebrate our cultural heritage of Native American and frontier roots.  We are experiencing a revival in our community life as we make investments in  areas that strengthen our infrastructure and qualify of life.  We are striving to be a community in which businesses wish to locate, families raise their children, and people can hope for a better life through honoring our past while we prepare for the future.

Our undertaking is no small feat.  We are working to reverse decades of drift with a plan of action to engage our community and tribal leaders in an effort to provide the necessary steps to produce economic development.  We embrace our frontier spirit and highlight the seven Native American Nations that call Anadarko home.  This diversity is the strength of our city and it will be the driving force in providing new hope for the next generation.

We welcome you to explore our city.  Take time to visit Randlett Park and see the peacocks!  Find time to stroll through the statuary garden at the National Hall of Fame of Famous American Indians!  Shop our unique art galleries and shops throughout town  Learn the history of Southwest Oklahoma in one of our museums such as the Southern Plains Indian Museum, Wichita Cultural Center or the Anadarko Heritage Museum.  And don’t forget to get a taste of Anadarko and Southwest Oklahoma at one of our local eating establishments or wineries.
