Summer Reading Program

It is time to get out, plant, create, grow, and connect with friends and community at your local library as the Anadarko Community Library presents "All Together Now," a Summer Reading Program for all ages.

The Anadarko Community Library's FREE Summer Reading Program starts with signups on May 24 with a day full of fun activities. You can sign up for the program, and get or update your library card at the library at 215 W Broadway Ave Anadarko, OK 73005 and get ready to come together and read over the Summer.

Throughout June and July, Readers of all ages are welcome to explore the library's programming and services. Activities may include group games, gardening-related crafts, art projects, science and engineering experiments, BOOKS, and much more.

The Readers track their reading minutes at home using the Beanstack App or a paper and sticker log. The more participants read, the more prizes they can earn.

What's the Summer Reading Program?

This program aims to keep children and teens reading over the summer, so they might better retain what they have learned from the previous school year and be ready to continue learning next year.

When the reader registers, they will set a summer reading goal. "How many minutes do they plan to read a day?"  Then they will read all summer, working towards achieving their goal.

Depending on age, children will track the minutes they spend reading with someone or independently using a paper log or the Beanstack app.

As the reader's minutes build, they will earn incentives. The more minutes they read, the more they can earn.

Participants can join us for in-person programs throughout the summer, where we will read, learn, and explore at the library.

Participants do not have to attend every program to join. Remember to read and come when you can.

Who can participate in the Summer Reading Program?

Children of all ages can participate in the Summer Reading program. There are four different in-person programs to pick from, depending on age. If your child is 6, 10, or 14, you can choose which program you would like them to participate.

In-person program schedule:

There will be programs throughout June & July 2023., excluding the 4th of July, and times may vary during the performer weeks. Please check the Anadarko Community Library calendar regularly.
